Come meet your candidates
As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida’s west coast, our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this storm. We stand with our neighbors in solidarity during this challenging time, and our thoughts are with them and their loved ones - we hope everyone stays safe and heeds local emergency management advice.
Amidst these trying circumstances, we want to remind voters in Islamorada of an important event to help you make informed choices in the upcoming election.
Upper Keys Candidate Forum
When: October 10, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 9 PM
Where: Murray Nelson Government Center (MM 102), Key Largo
Join us for the Upper Keys Candidate Forum, hosted by the Upper Keys Business and Professional Women (BPW) in collaboration with other community organizations, the Island of Key Largo Federation of Homeowner Associations, Tavernier Community Association, and the League of Women Voters of the Upper Keys.
This forum is an excellent opportunity to learn about local candidates running in the November 5 election. I will be on-hand to share my positions on the issues that matter most to Islamorada, and I’d love the chance to connect with you and hear your concerns as well.
Event Schedule:
5:30 PM: Social gathering with free hors d'oeuvres and cash bar, hosted by the Friends of the Key Largo Cultural Center
6:00 PM: Program begins
Overview of the six proposed Florida Constitutional Amendments on the ballot, presented by the Upper Keys League of Women Voters
Candidate Q&A panel featuring candidate-specific questions prepared by the event committee
9:00 PM: Adjourn
This is an important chance to get informed before Election Day, and I hope to see you there!
Stay safe,
Mary Barley, Candidate for Village Council Seat 3
